Three is the magic number for couple buying third Cannon Kirk Home

The Miller family are preparing to spend Christmas in their brand-new home, almost a decade after buying their first, second and now third, on the same scheme, built by developer, Cannon Kirk.

For Jon and Laura Miller, three is the lucky number after purchasing their third house with Cannon Kirk this autumn after growing to a family of four.

Mr Miller, 32, who runs his family’s coach company, first bought a two bed ‘Holly’ home in Highfields when he and Laura were dating in 2011. And while it was their ideal spot as it was so close to friends, family and amenities, the couple always dreamt of owning something bigger.

Mrs Miller, a respiratory nurse, said they knew they didn’t ever want to move away from Highfields, but soon found themselves looking for more space due to their growing family and wanting an extra bedroom.

“We had originally looked at one of the show homes which was a three bed ‘Poplar’ style. We absolutely fell in love with it on the spot, but we couldn’t afford it at the time. When we got engaged in 2013 we said we would prioritise getting married and wait to buy another home. But as soon as we saw that house come onto the market, we knew we wanted it and very quickly made the decision to buy it,” said the 30-year-old.

The couple lived in their second home for six years. During that time they got married and had two children, Charlotte, 3 and George, 18 months.

“After having the children, we soon felt we needed a bigger home again, looking for somewhere with space for a playroom and also somewhere for our family or friends to come and stay when they visited. We definitely knew we wanted to stay in Highfields as it’s the perfect location for us, and also love the Cannon Kirk homes as everything about how they are built, suits us and our lifestyle,” she said.

The family decided to buy a four bedroomed ‘Cedar’ house, off-plan, so they could have everything perfect for when they moved in.

“It was really exciting to see it being built from the ground up. With it being just around the corner, we walked past it nearly every day seeing it grow into our home. Charlotte was so excited and kept telling her friends she was going to get a new bedroom,” said Mr Miller.

The family added it was a very easy experience buying through Cannon Kirk and they enjoyed being able to make the choices about the fixtures and fittings just how they wanted them – and couldn’t wait to have the extra space.

“The floorplans of Cannon Kirk Homes just suit our lifestyle. We like to have an open plan kitchen diner living space, which we spend the majority of our time in and was the main selling point for us. Then to enjoy a separate lounge, space for the kids and two ensuite bedrooms is just perfect and we just couldn’t wait to move in. We now know we are in our forever home.” Mrs Miller said.

Mandy Lott, Sales Manager for Cannon Kirk Homes said: “It’s just lovely to see a family move to their dream house and also appreciate all the care and attention we put into creating them. We wish them all the very best in their third Cannon Kirk home with their beautiful family.

“We really think Highfields is the perfect location as it is close to the train station, near to major towns and cities such as Cambridge and Ely, has two Primary Schools and a Secondary school, while also having plenty of shops, takeaways and amenities anyone could need,” she added.

The first home was built on Highfields, near Littleport, Cambridgeshire in 2005, and is one of Cannon Kirk’s largest and most successful developments.
