A site manager for Cannon Kirk is this month celebrating his 18th anniversary working for the company.
Daryl Murfitt-Buck applied for a part-time position with Cannon Kirk in 2003 while he was studying for his BTEC National Diploma in Construction at the College of West Anglia.
Once his college course was completed, he started working for the company full time as Trainee Assistant Site Manager, firstly working on the development Sutton Mead, in Sutton Bridge.
From there, he became Assistant Site Manager on the Fallowfields development in Whittlesey, and then onto becoming the Site Manager at Highfields since 2009.
He said: “There are so many parts of the role that I enjoy. I like managing the contractors, working with suppliers, ensuring the build is within timescales and also seeing a house being constructed from a foundation all the way to a customer moving in.”
In fact, Daryl is such a fan of the Cannon Kirk homes, he and his family are living in one too.
“I have been living on the development for the last six years, firstly in a Holly, a two-bedroom house, which was and is still currently owned by my wife’s grandparents, then in 2018 we bought a Russet, one of the four bedroom detached houses on the first phase, because of needing the extra space for our growing family.
“Our houses are constructed to a very high standard, we don’t produce units we build homes which are practical and designed to suit all lifestyles, whether it’s for a single person or a family,” he added.
Mandy Lott, sales manager for Cannon Kirk Homes said: “Daryl is a great asset to the Cannon Kirk family and we are proud to help him celebrate 18 years with us. Knowing he is on site and looking after the build gives us peace of mind that everything is going to be done on time, and to an exacting standard.”
